A little bit about me...
I hail from the great state of Texas, but given my last name, you might have guessed that my cultural heritage includes Cajun roots - Southern Louisiana style.
I have lived in New York since 1997 and, though the artist's life can be periodically transient, have maintained primary residence in Brooklyn for the last 9 years.
Early Career:
Upon graduation from NYU's Tisch School of the Arts (BFA, 2001), I hustled up work as an actor and producer in the Downtown theatre scene (notably in Richard Foreman's Maria del Bosco). As is noted on this website's theatre page, I started The Engine, an artistic development utility, with close collaborators Kate Kita and Thom Sibbitt, through which we mounted theatrical productions, organized acting and movement classes, and began a writing group that still meets today.
Individual Accomplishments:
The other pages of this site detail my work with my brother, but independent of our collaborations, I work mainly as a playwright. I have written a dozen short plays (Heideman Finalist, The Humana Festival, 2005) and have had my plays featured in festivals in New York and Houston. I am currently attending Mac Wellman's MFA Play Writing Program at Brooklyn College (MFA candidate, Dec 2011). I am also currently working on a novel.
I have recently begun working as an actor here and there, primarily in readings of my classmates.
I have worked as an editor and features writer for local cultural rags, and I am very opinionated about a great many things that I do not know much about. (check out my two short essays about art/theater posted on the aetherplough website)
I am building a personal website that will explicate the above for all of you who just can't get enough Frank time on this site. Coming soon...
While it's being built, please contact me with all inquiries at [email protected].
